WHAT WE DO
Production Operations
Thrush Aircraft operates a number of shops at its facility in Albany, Georgia. From fabricating and machining raw materials into parts, molding fiberglass components, welding subassemblies and fuselages, assembly of components, small item and large component paint, all the way up to the wing and aircraft assembly operations, a significant portion of the aircraft is manufactured in-house.
fabrication
Our fabrication shop has a broad array of capabilities to handle sheet metal and tubular structures. Lasers and water jet machines perform first cuts, the largest press in the state forms parts into complex shapes, machine tools break and bend materials, and a CNC tube cutting machine shapes tubes to tight tolerances. Secondary operations include heat treating and finishing activities.
machine shop capabilities
The machine shop at Thrush Aircraft provides a wide range of manufacturing services in the production of aircraft components, tooling, and other parts. From traditional manual machining and tool-making to 3d printing, the machine shop stands by to serve the needs of Thrush Production and in support of Spares parts orders from around the world.
assembly
Smaller components, control surfaces, wings, and final aircraft all have departments focused on assembly. Supplier-provided components like engines, props, avionics, spray systems, gates, seats, etc. are added in final assembly, many times to customer specification. Additional options are added to the aircraft in our repair station.
test flights
Every aircraft undergoes a stringent test flight program prior to airworthiness and after options are added to the certified aircraft.
